A Few Odds and Ends

That's what these pictures seem to be! First of all, here's Katie working away on some card or letter for somebody. She spends so much time hunkered over in front of that little itty-bitty nightstand of hers. We've got to get that girl a desk whenever we start working on that bedroom! Ha!

Oh! Ha! This was sooooo funny!!! A snapshot can't possibly capture it--only a video would have done it justice. James had gone out to the garage to watch the kids on their bikes for a little while. It seemed like a good idea to sit on the couch... but after a while I heard him calling for help. He was STUCK! Really!!! He could not get up! Ha! I laughed and laughed and insisted on taking a picture before helping him, as any good wife would. That box was positioned just so, making it impossible for somebody of James' impressive physique to escape. ;-) It took two or three valiant (and gruntful) efforts on my part before he finally made his way out.

We've had "picnics" in the garage a few times recently as well. We're already gathering there as if it IS our den instead of GOING TO BE! Ha!

Not the greatest shot of the fam, but it does show the really cool bed that James picked up super cheap off of Craigslist last week. :-) This is just the footboard--the headboard is about 5' high, I would guess, and sort of twisted and gnarly. I LOVE IT! He paid less for it than we did for our current bed, although this one is WAY cooler. We thought about selling our bed, but I think we may sell Katie's instead and give our set to her for her room. :-)

A BREAKFAST picnic! That's pretty neat. Not everybody does that! Of course, not a lot of people spread a blanket out on the garage floor and picnic out there. It takes special people to do special things. :-D
I'm sure James was thrilled that instead of assisting him out of the couch-trap you had to run for the camera first. HAHAHAHA!!

It was actually a let's-have-breakfast-for-lunch picnic. ;-) We had a whole slew of eggs due to a pounding (our people have started POUNDING us here--WOW!) and some bacon that we needed to use up before it went bad. It was GREAT!

And yes, James was SO excited about the picture. I think he tried to forbid me from blogging it, but I must have momentarily forgotten about that when I was posting. Ha!

*laughing pretty hard here* That's too funny. Reminds me of the time we were over at the Munoz's house (it was several years ago ... before Anthony and I were married) and Brother Munoz was giving Anthony what-for about something (not sure I remember why). Anyway, he was sitting in his recliner and being quite expressive with his hands when one of his wild gestures sent his chair toppling over backwards. He couldn't get up and we were all laughing too hard to do anything about it.

Great way to turn a tense situation into a laughing fest. HA!!

Ha! That's great! We actually have a picture of Jon tipped over backwards in a recliner...asleep. It was a touchy one (had a tendency to tip) and he had put too much effort into lifting the footrest and ended up like that. It was too much work to crawl out of it, so he just stayed there and took a nap. Johnny Furlong used to tip over in it ALL THE TIME. I, personally, like having a chair like that around. Makes for great family entertainment. ;-)
