NEWSFLASH: Arkansas Youth Leader Gives Dance Lessons at the DQ!

Posted by cokelady

Couldn't pass up this opportunity, what, with dear ole' Brother Jason ministering up in Canada and DENYING that this ever happened. Here's the proof:

Okay, so, in all fairness to the subject of this photo, I'll clarify: he wasn't officially giving dance lessons. Although we all learned a great deal about him during this particular session...

"And this year's Spring fashions are teeming with denim and khaki..." Really, doesn't he look like he's trying out for the cover of the JCPenney's catalogue??? I've always thought so.

This is the handful of people who were privileged to see Brother Jason at his best (debatable) at the Dairy Queen that night. Aaaaaahhhh... for the good ole' days. Right, Jason?!?!? :-)

That wasn't the year Dave and I were there, was it? lol Anyways, great pics!

Jacob and I laughed pretty hard at your comment to his post. He is going to respond to you in his next post...I'm not sure when that will be, but you can look forward to something a little more personal I'm sure!

I'm glad to see you got the picture thing figured out! They are looking good!

Yeah, up until this last month or so the kids chores were sporatic too. But I am really enjoying "doing" chores with someone again. :)

You might be surprised how much you like seal if you would just try a bite, mmmmmmmm, it is so full of iron that you can taste it!

Yum! Strawberry jam is one of my favortites! Can you send any this way?

And I'm not depriving my kids of a dog, they can have one! Only they have to be old enough to take care it, because I won't! (sorry, guilt thing didn't work) :P

Oooh! Bekah why would you want to taste IRON? UGH!

Bec--Those pictures are too funny and after I saw them, I remembered that night at DQ, but Brother Jason doesn't look like that now, so I didn't remember being in BTI with him. He and his wife are, at present, hanging out with some of our young people, so I'll show him the pictures tomorrow and let you know what his reaction is. ~giggle~ It will be great, I'm sure.

Can I have your strawberry Jam recipe? One of the stores up here has a flat of strawberries on sale for $9.99, which is pretty good for here. Ray and Darren love strawberry Jam or Preserves, so I've been looking for a recipe. I would really like to put some up this year.

Well, see, that's the beauty of it. Only God could make iron taste so good, because we all know liver doesn't!

~whew~ That's a while lot to respond to out of just two people!

Bekah - I just checked my photo album. You and Dave were at BTI that year, 1997. For some reason, there was only a small handful of us who got together that night at DQ.

I anxiously awaited a reply from Jay for days after I commented on his post. When one didn't come, I began to think that he really did mean what he'd said and had nothing nicer to say than that and therefore had no reply! And this point, I don't know if I want a reply from him or not! :-I

I can't imagine ever having the fortitude (much less the desire) to try seal. That's almost like eating Flipper. And I'm with Sister Tammi -- if I wanted to taste iron I'd go lick a bridge.

Sister Tammi - Wish I could be there to "discuss" the pictures with Dr. Dance in person, but I'll settle for just reading about his reaction. ;-)

As for the Strawberry jam recipe... I don't have one. Just go buy a box of pectin (MCP is the best, but we can't find it around here so I used Ball brand) and use the recipe included for no-cook freezer jam. You still have to cook the pectin (no-cook?!), but it's super fast and easy and WOW is it good when it's all done. Strawberries were on sale here, too, thus the 28 jars of jam crammed in my freezer. (Wish I could ship you some, Bekah, but I don't think you'd want it anymore by the time it made the trip!)

Okay! The reaction wasn't quite as dramatic as I was hoping. He is just far too easy going. ~rolling my eyes~ When I pulled the pics up, his eyes got big and he said, "Oh my!" He was speechless. Finally, he got around to saying, "I don't have any incriminating pictures of her." He looked so sad when he said that. His wife got a kick out of those pictures.

I about lost it when you told Bekah that you would rather lick a bridge than eat seal if you wanted to taste iron.

As for the pectin, I'll look at Walmart. Not sure if they have their canning stuff out yet.

I also have a picture of him riding a kiddy car (you know, the kind you put a quarter in for a "ride"), but it was too dark to scan well. Looking back, I really don't remember Jason being as fun as the pictures seem to indicate! I remember him being very quiet and reserved... easy going, as you said. In any case, I'm glad his wife enjoyed them!

Good luck with the pectin. It's ALWAYS hard to find! If they have it, it will probably be 6 little boxes of it way up on the top shelf somewhere in an aisle that doesn't "fit" at all. That's how it usually is for me, anyway!

I have an answer for you concerning camp. Are you ready? Are you sitting down? You aren't holding a bat are you? Please don't hit me for being the news bearer...well...this is the answer...I guess I can't put it off any longer...awwwww...I just can't do this to you...but anyway...YES! We are coming. Happy now? hee hee!

YES! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!!

I guess this means that Tammy will finally get her long-awaited-for wedding present.

Ah! Hah! Now I am able to reply to these evil pictures myself. I just know that it is Tim Cox in those pictures. After all so many said that we looked alike. Well, I must confess, I own that loud shirt. I recognize it. But why is Tim wearing it. I don't think tose people at the Taj Mahal Inn (Heritage Inn) have very good security. I started a Blog myself, twice actually. It is a long story. Okay, I was busted with photographical evidence. It's me.
