Trip Pictures, Part 1

But first...

An update on our local church. We went today and took our flags and pictures and tracts from the church building and painted over the signs, then put up the CoGoP stuff again. We made sure everything was clean and in order, then locked the door and walked away. We're waiting for things to be finalized, but we've offered to give them the Church building and the sum of our current bank account if they'll just drop the lawsuit. Our ladies here are just soooooo tired of fighting things and although they know the building is rightfully theirs (and it is), they would rather just walk away from it and start over from scratch than to go to court and fight it out. After all, it's only a building. So we got things taken care of at the building and made arrangements to use a meeting room at a local motel for services this Sunday. Praise the Lord we were able to find something on such short notice! Do pray for the church here. We trust that God has wonderful things in store for us and we want to stay in a good spirit and not get ugly and angry toward the bunch of crooks that are snatching the building. Ha! Just kidding!!! (Kind of! Ha!) Anyway, pray for us here. We need God's help.

Okay, and now the fun part!

These pictures are about three weeks old, but no matter. They're PICTURES, right?! We traveled on Friday and Saturday and got to Mom & Dad's house sometime after 10:00 that night. We let the kids run off a little bit of steam and get the excited-to-be-with-the-grandparents spasms all worked out before putting them to bed.

We went to church at Zion hill the next day, then out to lunch at a Chinese buffet (can you believe it?!) before heading back to the house. There was still plenty of time for some fishing before our Sunday afternoon nap. :-)

(Mom is trying to untangle Joe's line from the tree up above, in case you're wondering about her unusual fishing technique.)

James took Katie for a ride in the paddle boat. It tips just a bit when he gets in. Ha!

Mounting the hammock...

Joe finally made it!!!
Hershey was enjoying the great outdoors as well, but it got a little hot for him.

Monday was Presbytery stuff, then a nice relaxing night at Mom & Dad's house. Actually, I don't remember anything at all about that night. I just know that was the plan!

Tuesday we got everybody ready and headed to Fields of the Wood! All of the kids decided they wanted to climb Ten Commandment Mountain, so up they went. I stayed down below so I could take pictures. That is, of course, the ONLY reason I didn't go with them. It had nothing to do with the fact that I'm now in my 30's and a titch overweight or the fact that it was dreadfully hot and miserable out there. ~ahem~ Anyway, Joe actually ran most of the way up and back. I was very impressed! Katie and Sam took things slowly, but they made it all the way, too. Good for them!

(All of the following pictures were taken from GREAT distances, just zoomed in real close. I love my camera soooooo much when I see pictures like this from a mile away!)

Here's a shot of some of the folks from our Region at the service. There were several others, but they were spread hither and yon. I just love it that so many of them made the effort to be there! They bless me. :-)

And that's it for now! The next installment will include pictures of the Assembly itself. :-)

Great pictures. Looking forward to more. Glad you all are home safe.

We will be praying. Do you really have to offer them the money, too? The building isn't enough? It was so nice of you guys to make sure everything was clean and in order. Most people would've, well, you know ...

"Heaping coals of fire ..."?? We'll be praying and believing with you that God's got something great in store.
