ALBUQUERQUE, NEW MEXICO...

...is now home to The Church of God once again! Praise the Lord!!! We had a good service here this morning with about 20 people in attendance, I think. There were 11 there tonight and we had another good service. After much prayer and counselling with a few ladies, James felt led to set the Church in order tonight and take in three members to start with:

Sister Grimes

Sister Martinez

Sister Bailey

Praise the Lord!!! We are just sooooooo excited! And they seem a wee bit excited as well. ;-) Especially Sister Grimes--she is just beside herself! I think she said she is 78 or 79 years old and joined the Church way back in the 40's. She has just been sick over everything going on the the CoGoP and is sooooooo thrilled to have "found" God's Church again. We had a wonderful time and are anticipating great growth in this area. Pray, pray, pray!

And as you're praying, send up a few for our family as well. We told the folks tonight that we are planning to move to Albuquerque and James will pastor the Church here for the duration of this Church year. Sooooo, this means putting our house on the market and finding one here asap! We've been praying about this and anticipating it for several weeks now and have gone so far as to have a market analysis done on our house just before the Assembly. God has blessed us and the market in Andrews has gone way up since we purchased our home there 4 years ago. So we trust we'll be able to make an excellent profit on our home and have a good start on a home in this area. God is just sooooo good to us! We're so excited about all of the doors He has opened and how He's worked to see the Church up and going here, so we're trusting that He'll also open doors for us to find the house of His choosing for us here in this area.

We will be looking at homes tomorrow in the Cedar Crest and Sandia Park areas. Those are both little itty-bitty towns just on the other side of the mountain range (10-15 minutes from Albuquerque) and we LOVE the area. It's very Colorado-ish and makes me very happy. :-) I would just lo-o-o-o-o-ove it if God would open a door for us up there! We would love to be out of a regular "neighborhood" and let the kids have a little room to roam. God knows the desires of our heart, but ultimately His choice is always the best, so we're just praying for Him to guide us and open up what He has planned for us. We'd appreciate your prayers.

In closing... "A female turtle will travel far--many of miles each day--to lay her eggs on the same old beach, where she had her first birthday!!!" If only you knew how to sing it, it would be so much better. Sam is playing with the Leappad right now and for some reason that song is his favorite thing in the entire book. So we have to hear it over, and over, and over, and over... So I thought I'd share it will you. :-)

Thank all of you who have been praying for us and for the work in Albuquerque--God has heard and answered. Keep it up! :-)

Love You All!,

~ Rebekah ~
--Ah, yes! James just reminded me to add a few pictures of the church building here in Albuquerque. This is the same building where my Dad pastored 28 years ago--and two of the same members! Isn't that amazing?! Very cool. God is just so, so, so, so, so good!!! :-)

This is so great! God is doing so many wonderful things for The Church. We will definitely be praying for yall. God bless.

God is doing a wonderful work. We have also received a new member from the COGOP since the Assembly and I'm certain that more are going to follow all over the U.S. Praise the Lord for the wonderful work that He has done in Albuquerque. Beautiful members and beautiful church.

That's neat! PLT! They have a very nice church there.

But now I'm feeling sorry for your current local church. We KNOW how hard (and depressing) it is to lose good church members to a job transfer! (family of 7!!!) Tell your Sis. Tammy (isn't that your Pastor's wife's name?) that I FEEL for her and pray that God will send 10 to replace the 5 that they are losing!!!!

Also WELCOME AND CONGRATULATIONS to the new members and church!!! How exciting!!!

Congratulations to the new members and the beautiful church building. God is moving in the church. We will be praying for you to sell your home.

Yay for you, new things are exciting. I will be praying for yall.

It is so exciting to see how the Lord is moving. We're praying for you in TN! :o)

Praise the Lord!!!! Isn't God good?

Other than the paved parking lot and the stone fence at the edge of it, the building looks the same as when we left it 28 years ago. The sky looks the same, too, and is BEAUTIFUL!!! Ahh, those Albuquerque sunsets were AMAZING! I've lived in "the south" for 3 years now and I've never seen a sunset that could even come CLOSE to comparing with a sunset in Albuquerque. There's no way to describe it. Pictures don't do justice either. You just have to experience it to get the full effect. Although, if you guys move to the other side of the mountain range you probably won't be seeing them from your house. --I'm SOOOOO excited about the church there in Albuquerque! I'm overjoyed to tears, thanking God for returning these sheep to the Fold. Praise God, Praise God, PRAISE GOD!!!

Sister Becki,
Praise the Lord for the new members and The Church of God, once again, being established in Albuquerque!! Our God is an awesome God!! We will be praying for you and your family and the upcoming move. I too will be praying for your present local church, for God to add to them double!! I knew from the time we had arrived at IYC that it was going to be a special Assembly and a year full of increase. God bless you all!!
~Sis. Cyndi

That is soooo awesome. Increase is what the Church is going to be seeing. I'll be praying for your home situation. God knows and supplies...it's fun to watch Him at work across the world.

That is soooo exciting! Thanks so much for sharing. It's so encouraging to see the Lord working all over! And precious to see more of God's sheep come into the fold.

Will be praying for your move! Now I guess we won't be seeing you when we move to Andrews! :-D

Just kidding. (but you never know what God is going to do... especially with that husband of mine and his rambling blood!)

Amazing! It is a winderful property and wonderful looking people. I am elated for you guys! I cannot wait to see pictures of the whole transition that will be taking place. When it is time, if necessary to paint the new house let us know. We will tine in to our favorite How-To blog to check it all out!

Glad to hear, or rather read, the good reports.
