This Week

Okay—this week! What have we done this week?

We had good services on Sunday, but some extra special… “trials” (for lack of a better word!) that day! But God helped us and is still helping us.

Monday is lost forever.

On Tuesday we had a meeting at the church and it feels like God has answered our prayers and everything is heading in the right direction again after the unexpected “kinks” we had encountered. PRAISE THE LORD!!! He’s been sooooo good to us and we expect so many more good things from Him here in the Albuquerque area. Keep praying for us!

Tuesday night was laundry night again. I told James that I want to get rid of every stitch of clothing that we have in storage and live with just what we have with us right now. I was able to get all of the laundry done and two weeks worth of ironing (I skipped last week) in about two and a half hours. Wow! Of course, I must admit that it's not very exciting to get dressed in the morning anymore. “Am I going to wear the denim skirt with the red shirt, the denim skirt with the yellow shirt, or the other denim skirt with the blue shirt?” Ha! Of course, even if I had all my other clothes it would just be “another denim skirt” and a few more color selections. So it really doesn’t matter anyway! Ha!

Wednesday. Hhmmm. I think that day is lost, too. Can’t remember a thing. I know we’ve been doing much better this week with trying to keep a regular schedule—and it helps sooooo much. We get up in the morning and have breakfast, get dressed, clean the room, and head straight into devotions. Then we do school and usually finish up about noon. We’ll make sandwiches here at the room, then sometime in the afternoon we leave. Doesn’t matter where we go, we just go. And the goal is to stay gone until 5 or 6 o’clock. If we get back any earlier than that the evening is sooooo long and we’re all going NUTS for the last hour or two before bedtime!

Thursday. Yesterday. We had our regular devotions and school morning, then the kids and I ate left-overs (from a restaurant the day before—and the rest of the nacho dip I’d made a few days earlier) for lunch while we watched Lucy. Then we loaded up and went to Jason’s office for him to show us a diagram of our property and explain that part of the land that is contained within the fence line isn’t really ours. It actually belongs to a neighbor—the fence was just placed in the wrong place. No biggie, really. We’re still getting the .68 acre that we agreed to, so all is well. For all we know, the neighbor may not even care about where the fence is and we may be able to enjoy the extra land anyway! Time will tell.

After leaving Jason’s office we drove up to our Post Office in the mountains and got set up for mail delivery. Actually, you can start sending mail to our new address right now and they’ll just hold it at the Post Office for us until we actually get moved in. Very nice. Afterwards, we went back to that country store up there that has the furniture we liked. We have all but settled on the chuckwagon table (I LOVE it and it will be sooooo perfect for school!), but we’re still in need of a dining room table since we sold ours in Andrews. I can’t seem to find one that I like. At a reasonable price, anyway! We’ll keep looking. But I have the perfect place and plan for the chuckwagon table. I’ll be sure to post some pictures of it when the time comes. Neat, neat, neat. :-)

We did some more running around after that (got to stay gone ‘til at least 5:00, remember?!), then grabbed a bite to eat at a really scary Arby’s (yikes!) before heading back to the room for the night. Ah, yes. We’ve made Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune part of our schedule this week, too! Ha! So we did that last night when we got back. :-)

Okay, you have to post a picture of the chuckwagon table. I'm really trying to picture this.
